Thank you for your helpful comment. Sadly, London is 200 miles from home, I was only there from Friday lunchtime to Sunday lunchtime. It was my first visit there in 20 years and was an expensive weekend approved lovingly by my long suffering wife but not one I’m likely to undertake again. My next foray will be nearer home.

Thanks for your comment, John. I can’t answer directly. The area is served by the City of London Police who have unique rights and who, I believe take a dim view of photographers anyway. One student a few years ago was arrested and put in a cell as a suspected terrorist because she was taking photos of the buildings. I took this shot and similar…[Read more]

I’ve been walking around London this weekend and taken some photos (surprise, surprise!). Here’s one of them. I took it in the City (Square Mile area near the junction of Leadenhall and St Mary Axe for those who wish to know.

I’ve been taking some photos in London and I’m looking for where and how to post them. I haven’t been on this website for a few weeks and I’ve forgotten. Old age. Who ordered that?

I revisited this place this week for the Liverpool River of Light festival – lots of colour to see in the various buildings and installations but, while there, I had another go at the Canning Dock. I stuck with colour because it was night rather than blue hour and there was lots of colour to see.

On the right hand side of the wall there seems to be a near vertical shadow area. Is it rocks. The area adds to the depth of field for me. Nice shot. Lovely atmosphere.

Thank you too, Dahlia. It’s starting to look unanimous in favour of the black and white. A lesson for me to bear in mind in future.

Thank, Kent. Of course I did read the Photzy eBook which helped me to see the monochrome possibility.
