One of those picture in a picture examples. What is the subject? The soft focus swan or the silhouetted birds? A lot of competition. Since the swan is soft focused, distant, I’d suggest cropping it out and having a reflective image of the two nearer birds. Agree with @hilli re: the border.

Thank you @horbins, a helpful comment, but don’t forget that the world is turning and it was unable to predict the effect, I shot in manual mode, I don’t want that the camera takes the control and reduce my daughter to a merely silhouette. These are a hard conditions to shot, high iso, big dynamic range….

I too love the idea. This is the type of shot I am drawn to but am also trying to improve my work on. In this case, I agree with @hilli that the crop is an improvement. It has a more focused feel, as opposed to the more cluttered feel of the unedited shot. I feel this would have been improved by a sharper angle, maybe shooting from the left…[Read more]
