@joanna
When I resized the image to the 500 pixel width requirement it came out as you see it. I don’t know why, but I’m gonna screw around with it and see what happens. So much to learn, only one life to live…Your comments made me think, and I realized something. This image, and I wonder how many more like it I’ve…[Read more]

Thanks so much @joanna and @admin. Yes, I heard about the bridge collapsing. The locks are quite controversial. They love them or hate them. I am at the beach now so haven’t been on the site much. Will be more active starting next week. Cheers!Check It Out

Thanks @joanna where can I see some of your work?
He shoots a lot in similar areas to me so I recognise some of the places in his “across the street” series, he has a really good eye, definitely something to aspire to!Check It Out

@joanna – It’s advice I got from Mitchell Kanashkavich when I was showing him a photo. I made an excuse and he simply informed me that nobody really cares. All they care about is what is in front of them.
When I accepted that reality, I started going the extra mile to get a good photograph. 🙂Check It Out

I think the “best” photos need not have initial stopping power. Save that for superhero and vampire movies. Encourage thought and creativity over
smoke and mirrors.Look at the Old Man In A Café image posted by @joanna for example. The image thoughtfully and tastefully depicts an elderly man whose manner, expression and glasses reinforce the…[Read more]

@joanna has read my mind! Get rid of the dead space not adding value – after all, it’s all about the bide. Something like this (although I’d probably remove the window on the right and then add a bit more space on that side):

@falx, thanks for your comments….they were finished, hadn’t thought of a different background ……. yes, a white b/gound, with a ring flash , which lit the flowers, but not the b/ground. Any suggestions for a different…[Read more] -

@silverbells That is a very sweet picture… And @joanna, I’m think the guy in yours looks like he’s been caught unprepared there! His arms down by his sides says ‘Wait a second, I wasn’t expecting this!’. Lol.
I caught this moment by chance. I had spotted the tunnel originally and the couple passed through just as I was framing up.

Thanks everyone, and I agree. The background ink is not quite as dark in the original, so maybe there was a little lost in translation. But, I agree that a lighter/brighter pink would work better.
@joanna, you are absolutely right, and I think that is the main thing that has been bothering me all along, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I…[Read more]
