@michael-lloyd. About the pigeon you say : “I thought it was trash”
Many people feel that way about pigeons… 🙂On a more serious note: Like I said before, I like the pigeon. But since it seems not to work for you all, I invited his brothers and sisters to make it clearer.

@michael-lloyd , @grizzly , Thanks.
Interesting to see that the “selective color effect”, specifically the red lips when not in close up, smudge. It looks like it was not painted correctly. That is not the case. Everything Red is actually red in the shot.
It is due to the compression used on You Tube that it looks like that.In all fai…[Read more]

Beautiful capture @michael-lloyd I’m a bit concerned about the tree asking you to take a portrait though, did you hug it? Check It Out

@michael-lloyd, thanks for the comments and the critique! I have had several occasions as well. It is funny what we will do to get “the shot” lol. I have been on crutches the last few weeks, and the swelling and bruising is just going away. But I can’t use or extend my leg and foot. I will be doing some physical therapy to get range of motion…[Read more]

@admin @michael-lloyd You can get away reasonably without potent gear when photographing stationary birds – if you can get close enough. You can get quite far by just being still and waiting for them to come to you. But birds in flight is a different kettle of … em … fish. You then need good quality, fast focussing lenses reaching 400mm+…[Read more]

Nice article @michael-lloyd. I guess some of the bird forums would hardly support some of the views here but then we do not shoot for those forums. we shoot for family, for friends, for self. Send the pics you know will be appreciated by a specific audience, to them. Send other pics to other audiences based on the same criteria. And then sometimes…[Read more]

I’ve managed to have a little play around with the image again and done some cleaning up as well as dodge & burn. Not to sure if the image is a little too dark and need to lower the contrast a little?
Thank you so much for you’re reply 🙂 @lukas @michael-lloyd @yumarena

Thanks @michael-lloyd – you saved me some time, LOL!
@suegresham my lens detail was included just above the pic :).
My biggest challenge here was the huge difference between mid afternoon sun spots and the dark shadows under the huge frame of the rhino. The only way I could reign in the highlights sensibly was with luminosity…[Read more]

@michael-lloyd you are right it is Tony Kuyper. I have the Jimmy McIntyre videos and they are great. He also had a ps action that will create all the masks for you. Then he has one that will delete them when you are done because they take a lot of memory.Check It Out

OMG you are absolutely right @michael-lloyd about the blue wood but you also have to take into account that the tree is in the shadows which might give it a slight blue hue. however you are right in the fact that the blue was too strong.Check It Out

You are correct @michael-lloyd I did move the saturation up however I am a fan of high contrast and a little higher (but believeable) saturation. maybe I did move it up a little higher than what I should have. give me a few minutes and see if I can fix it.Check It Out
