I’m very much shocked and very much overwhelmed. Thank you ever so much @redman for choosing my humble photo for the Feature of the Week 🙂 I just hope I can keep it up as I do think this one is my best photo yet .
Many thanx

Tobie replied to the topic Could I have this critically reviewed please in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 9y, 8mo ago
I like the small part of the bigger scene as portrayed @jbaukes but I’d like to see more substance of interest. In other words imagine you’ve gone lower with the camera and tilted it upwards to include more of the background. You then still would have had the water, the rock and much more in the background to interest your viewer.…[Read more]

I do @redman but please expand – what colour is off? These are not colourful birds at all, unless the sun hits them at exactly the right angle.
Here’s a version that I’ve tweaked a tad for another purpose (large version: http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=143134&d=1406045249):

Wow, this is a hard one to find much wrong with.
Possibly some loss of detail in the left wing (extremely picky)
Possibly a candidate for POTW? @redman?Check It Out

Thanks for the feedback Stewart @redman!
My biology professor used to talk about the difference between accuracy and precision.
In the interest of simplification I glossed over the precise reason that noise reduces sharpness (noise reduction) for the expedient and still accurate statement that for maximum sharpness you’ll want to go with a…[Read more]

@redman beat me to it. Sometimes it doesn’t matter. Sometimes it matters a great deal. When it matters instinct is the best tool to help make that decision. You already have it. You just have to tap into it and do what it tells you to do.Check It Out

@fcalesso This is the exact issue I have been losing sleep over for quite some time. (Especially as it applies to newbies who really have no frame of reference.
So I would love to hear from these folks on how they would answer your question: @ed-aldridge, @nikon-nut, @redman, @drus, @caimiCheck It Out

Hmmm….grading a photograph. Interesting thought. I’m not sure how that is accomplished without subjectivity. (It won’t be, BTW.) One of the above mentioned sharpness gets lots of points, what about those purposefully blurred or out of focus or movement used to create an impression? Coming from an art standpoint I find it hard to fathom a…[Read more]
