I recently had a chance to take some photos in very low light using tripods and flashlights. We were inside Fort Adams which was built in the 1800’s. I don’t think any of the shots are real interest grabbing but it was a great learning opportunity and I would love to get some thoughts on composition, post processing etc.

@Tobie I like your version much better! I don’t know how to do that but want to learn. I’m taking a Lightroom course right now. Did you do that in Lightroom or Photoshop?

@glegg. Above the man was an old fashioned Barber sign. I had wanted that in the shot but when looking at it later it was so busy around the sign it was hard to even notice it. Would have maybe been better if he was looking at me? Thanks for your thoughts. I’m really trying to learn.

@erikfransman. I though the setting I had was low enough. I’m still learning. Thanks for your thoughts.

NIkon d7000, ss 1/160, f/5, ISO 100
Would it look to better to have slowed ss down or speed it up to freeze the water and her foot?

@Falxy that is exactly what I felt. The woman left the little girl on the beach while she went out with the little boy (she is holding).

Thank you Dahlia and Petr. Petr your comments didn’t sound too critical. I thought something wasn’t making it a great picture. But didn’t know what to change. Now I do!
