It’s a scary subject. Like many things AI can be a useful tool but there are always those who turn the good into evil and it is becoming harder to separate truth from fiction. @robertapple that is very scary. As for the car…was your car an Austin Healey or an MG @reyers You are right, they are a lot of fun. We have an Austin Healey 1950s or…[Read more]

You’re right Rob @reyers
The onion was added as a color spot to counterweight otherwise “bored” color pallet. Cheese/butter would serve the same role- good idea! -

@reyers My position comes from someone operating in the realm of combating Child Trafficking, and I am terrified by how it can be used to target children through fake videos that appear to be from parents, friends, relatives, gaining children’s trust to lure them into real life abductions, getting them to commit suicide on camera, and a hundred…[Read more]

I can’t believe this one by @reyers didn’t get a pic already. In fact, I’m not sure why I didn’t immediately rush to this thread with it.

@reyers, @dahliaambrose, @federicoalegria @patrickw-2 If/when you come to Portland, Maine, we will go out to dinner here on the waterfront in this floating restaurant. This is a little history behind the restaurant – a former car ferry in it’s “first life”. Pricey but a unique experience.

@federicoalegria No problem. It’s very easy to misread forum posts.
To be perfectly honest, I am an “amateur” just like you. I haven’t taken any paid jobs in years and all of my recent work comes from self-assigned projects which I haven’t make any money from. The term “professional photographer” is just a reference to the fact someone is…[Read more]

Thanks, Rob! @reyers I’m posting a few extras for you here to enjoy more of the D vibe and city pride. BTW, I neglected to mention Frank Sinatra in the shot posted above. The whole scene was extraordinary.

When it comes to delivering contrast via the use of colour, there’s no match for green and red! For this shot, @reyers used an ƒ∕11 aperture value; which aids into capturing shallow depth of field. Opposed to bokeh, this approach produces sharp focus from the minimum focal range all the way up to infinity. And with a 1/13s shutter speed, I’m po…[Read more]

@patography @reyers I hope that neither of you are left with the impression that I’m making the case that no post processing should ever be done. That’s definitely not my intention.
What I’m trying to say is this:
1. There are many genres of photography which are (or should) follow strict ethical guidelines for post processing. This isn’t…[Read more]

@reyers I personally don’t think strict guidelines for post processing should just be limited to photojournalism.
I most shoot what would be classified as wildlife photography now, but since it’s really a form of documentary photography — i.e. journalism — I still follow the same strict ethics.
