@robertapple Thank you. I had another version with a flock of birds, but they look more like flies or dust (at least on mobile!)

Thanks for your comments, @annehornsby @dahliaambrose @robertapple
I’m so often drawn towards views that incite my calm (is that an oxymoron?) and am always encouraged when it helps conjure that feeling in others.
I’m personally not a bit fan of throwdowns so won’t start one of my own here. Feel free to initiate one though.

@robertapple, good morning. I am in Cheyenne and a city boy. We don’t hear about other parts of the state except for Jackson and Cody for the millionaires buying up ranches. Around here, yes parts of ranches are being developed but for the most part around here it does not appear that bad.
Thank you for educating me.

Yes, awesome colors. Sometimes looking out toward the NW over the St. Lawrence River, the colors are those spectacular dominating purples with a side of blue and yellow-red.

Thanks @robertapple @dahliaambrose
I am always drawn to the seeming paradox of hard and soft contrasts living comfortably in the same frame.

@robertapple, good morning. Love these. The Cowboy way is alive and well here in Wyoming. The University of Wyoming developed a new slogan a few years ago along with a marketing plan for it. It is “The world needs more cowboys.”.
Make it a rocking day.

Hi Robert, it’s a sweet chestnut fruit, half opened. Do you get Chestnut Trees over there?

Thank you.
I’ve been looking through his site. Amazing photography. The Dispossessed story hits close. During my first tour in Iraq, we frequented a Turkish Refugee camp. While the faces are different in Chris’ photos, kids are kids and the smiles and goofing around are so similar.
I need to do something with all my Iraq photos. I…[Read more]

Was the lighting to the area around the tree natural? Draws ya right into that tree.

Thanks @robertapple @retiredgrunt @tersha . Something about Spanish Moss attracts my attention, as though I am enclosed, almost like drawn drapes.

The colors are fascinating. I only get to see these colors in pictures because here in the east where I’ve lived most of my life, anything earth wise is shades of brown and black/gray. In Georgia, the clay was red however 🙂

Jimmy is the only person I’ve spoke with, that made the project. All others, even if they were looking my way, I was driving by or parked a distance away. Some have even waved at me as I snapped the shot.

Lord have mercy. Thank you for fighting the good fight @robertapple I know this sort of abuse happens. I have a former colleague who is a writer and retired social worker who has written a powerful novel on this subject which I have avoided reading. It’s a work of fiction but based on her work on this subject, with victims and law…[Read more]

Just saw an Andy Gibb YouTube that speaks to this issue. https://youtu.be/oy1UCZmiSW4?si=MxKmBC_aA32OVnfe
His point is that sometimes the grand view/wide angle doesn’t work for him so switches to the small, intimate view. He says that it often feels like “giving up” but then goes onto explain that it taps into a different part of one’s…[Read more]
