Understanding Colors In Photography

Here is a good article on light stalking, but interestingly enough if you study color psychology a bit this color combo is actually quite powerful from a emotion evoking response.

Thanks Belinda, we spent most of the Day here though we missed sun up and sun set, it was a fairly serious trip into the formation which required FWD and I wasn’t comfortable doing it in the dark my first run at it. The clouds were drifting by all day and as the angle of the light changed there was constantly something new catching my eyes, I shot several versions of this rock formation but as you said, the clouds were perfect in this one and they were as shot. I’m planning a return trip to catch it at first and last light, someday.

Thanks Dahlia, @dahliaambrose the colors here are something else ,they are a mix of sulfur – yellow , Magnesium – purple to blue, calcium – white, iron – red, and copper phosphates – blue to green.

Thanks John, and @johnteate that would be highly unadvised if you find yourself here some day, the variety here are Timber Rattlers and are extremely aggressive and known to chase people if disturbed, something I’ve experienced before. I am however always prepared for such an occasion, and if there is the need, any shooting wont be done with a camera. I only heard one go off this particular trip and didn’t explore that area further.

Thanks Dahlia, most of Wyoming has very clear skies, as we are the least populated state in the lower 48 and don’t really have any Big Cities we don’t have much pollution to speak of, light or otherwise.
