It’s an excellent point that @susandavid makes. Plenty of other manufacturers make perfectly good cameras. The reason I am Nikon, is that when I really started to get serious about learning, I went out and started doing some work with a pro as a sidekick. She shot Nikon so it was just easier for me to […]

That’s it for me then.
All our thremometers are painted onto the wall at 30 d C. Not much point in waisting money on a real one. Eat you hearts out.
Great climate for Toads though. I’ll put the kettle on for you @susandavid and @toadhollow -

@susandavid How much would it cost for that NOT to happen? LOL Just because a toad CAN be licked doesn’t mean it WANTS to be. @tomdinning The consciousness of the toad runs at a higher level my friend, you never know what secrets of the universe can be unleashed through the proper application of a good toad […]

Hey @toadhollow. That’s 9 more points than I already have. Share some. The frightening thing for me @susandavid is I would like to join you in that drink but that’s when I become dangerous; one of the many reasons why I don’t. So, have one for me as well. All this stuff is ‘a point of […]

@susandavid I think my IQ just went up 10 points for being on the same forum as you guys…. I am with you on this one Susan, though, I wish I could add something to the mix… this forum has really produced quite a few “ah ha!” moments for me in terms of my learning. Probably […]

@susandavid is absolutely correct, you CAN use a single photo for tonemapping (especially in Photomatix 4) and the results can be quite breathtaking, but you do lack the details of the other 2 brackets; + and – EV. Many digital SLR cameras have a bracket capture feature. I use this feature myself for most of my […]

@susandavid I really TRY to keep myself well rounded with other more mainstream techniques as well, but like you it’s VERY difficult when you’re looking at a subject and you just know that it will be jaw-dropping in HDR… 🙂 Many thanks for your post!

@susandavid thank you SO much for your kindness and support. Please do move out here, there’s plenty of room, the scenery is stunning and we’ve got LOT’S of potential subjects to capture! We could even go on a Photo Walk one day! OK, I’m dreaming, but… you gotta ask, eh? I can’t wait to show my […]

@susandavid I live in the Niagara peninsula (Thorold) and I agree that there are so many amazing places to shoot here. I especially love Short Hills Park, which is big enough to offer almost any kind of terrain you want. I also head down to Long Point near Port Rowan whenever I am able. There is […]
