@cjschmit, I agree that it is a great shot. I’m from mke, left there about 40 years ago. I used to go to the Pfister on New Years eve when I was younger, used to love the English Room and Pub. Haven’t been there (the Pfister) for a while. Looking forward to Summerfest, haven’t missed that for a number of years.Check It Out

At first glance, and If I hadn’t read Duncan’s comments first, I probably would have given you credit for a pretty good picture. But looking at a larger sized picture [using hover zoom on Google Chrome], I can see that even the biker’s face is not really in good focus.
I know that taking these types of photos is difficult, and I am going to…[Read more]

I like the photo, but I’m not sure hanging it in the bedroom is a great idea. I would think that the colors here would tend to keep you awake.
Besides that, can I ask how you did it?Check It Out

Jim, being a strong believer of the rule of thirds, I see two entirely different images resulting from this image, If you want to focus on the flower, use a portrait crop, placing the flower in the upper left third, the second, focuses more on the background, in landscape, place the flower in the lower right third. Just a thought.Check It Out

Good photo for a pocket camera, hard to believe you were standing up in a convertible, looks to me like you were a lot closer to the ground.Check It Out

@falx Actually, this started out as a portrait shot, I cropped off some utility wires on the top and water from the bottom. I do have some landscape shots with more of the waterfall.Check It Out

I think that you should crop off a little of the greenery on the right, putting the main subject in the right third point, instead of the center. Check It Out

I agree with all that @doctorflash had to say, and would add that it is missing a singular point of interest. Something that the eye would be drawn to. Otherwise the eyes just wander about the entire photo.Check It Out

@falx. That is further North than I have been previously. Never got north of the Cotswold region, and loved it there. I hope to get back there again some day (on my bucket list). Will take you up on that offer of a pint.Check It Out

I have to disagree with @falx, I think focus and background are both ok. Moving a little to the right would have had the light pole framing your son instead of coming out of his head. Overall though, I like the photo.Check It Out

@falx. I vaguely remember seeing that ADOBE now offers a package for photographers priced at $9.95 per month USD for Photoshop and Lightroom, not a bad deal.
If I may ask, where in England do you reside? Haven’t been there for about ten years. I’d love to get back, the pubs are calling.Check It Out
