Finally, we’ve got some beautiful spring weather in mid-east coast U.S. I just shot this cardinal leaving our feeder. (I think he’s hiding his crest, but I’m not a great bird identifier) .

Yes, I agree that the nose is a little out of focus. I was so close to it…and I wanted to aim the eyes.
And I’m using a kit lens (Canon 18-55mm).
I had to crop because there was a white shade of the cage bar. Now I think about it I could have photo-shopped it rather than a tight crop.

the idea was to create high key image-so the white background ang white jugs. The problem with colour version is that ther is a little difference in white colours in two jugs-so I went to B&W.

Thank you so much for replying @tobiepsg @fotofrank I think you are both absolutely right I took a look at the second edit and realized it was a bit over powering but lowering the highlights would of made the image more orange and too over edited which is something I tend to do when not resting on the editing side. Hello apologies fir late reply. It was meant to have a menacing look about the picture @pauly666 the lighting was placed in the lower left hand side. The model wanted to create pictures with different moods this one being a menacing look.
I like this too, I second @tobiepsg‘s suggestion of a pano crop as I think it would add strength to the composition.
It would also benefit from lens calibration as the horizon line dips a bit from rectilinear distortion.
