Thanks for taking the time to look at this an offer your thoughts. The mirror was niggling me as well but I couldn’t really figure why, I’m going to have to re-shoot with the top in (reflection wise may need to be a little creative in photoshop).
I had a nightmare trying to level this, the tripod said it was level but when I started…[Read more]

Hi Steven,
That’s dedication at it’s very best, and had the weather held I think this would have been an excellent shot. Compositionally I think you nailed it but the combination of persistent rain and low light has combined to thwart your efforts and lefty you with a shot that is a little soft.If I were being exceptionally picky the…[Read more]

Hi,
Such a cheeky grin and obvious merriment should probably be taken more of an advantage of. I think that the desire to have a degree of contextual information in this image has led to something that’s compositionally awkward. as others have mentioned, there’s the horizontal levelling that’s a bit of an issue (although in fairness it does…[Read more] -

Hi all,
Been trying to perfect the image I had in my head for this one, and could do with some constructive advice on whether I’m there or thereabouts. It’s essentially a fairly simple concept and I was aiming to convey a sense of uselessness, or frustration at the time spent in life just waiting. As always would greatly appreciate any…[Read more]

Firstly, apologies for not returning to thank you for the feedback sooner – Having a work nightmare this week and been offline for what feels like a lifetime.
Compositionally, @mc-fowler and @haychmack and @hcreations I think you all hit the nail on the head and it’s something I’ll definitely be concentrating on in future. I obviously like…[Read more]

It is hard to put your finger on but agree that compositionally it just doesn’t draw you in. Whilst the eye adhere’s to the ‘rules’ the image overall just seems to be bang in the middle of the frame Your eye is naturally drawn to the white of the pelican, and I think in this case that there’s just too much of it.
I’ve tried looking at it…[Read more]

OK, so here’s one that I think is one of my better ones, I can see where improvements could have been made from the initial capture through to the post processing, but not really had any truthful crit on this (or many other shots) so quite interested to hear what everyone thinks.
Every little helps, and I’m thick skinned enough to take it as…[Read more]

Hi All, Happy Friday !! Nothing unusual other than having the flash off camera on a ttl cord. Settings were Aperture Priority (to save me having to mess with the flash settings manually) at f20 for a larger DOF. Handheld with the flash in one hand and the camera in the other. Kit wise these […]

Of the many attempts at capturing macro shots of things that move, the onlt successful one I’ve kept was this chap who was happy to pose for mewhilst on Holiday in Cyprus earlier this year. Given that this particular flavour is generally found in Portugal or Spain I’m surmising that this one was either a […]

@tomdinning I think sir that the self portraits I posted a while ago were more than enough for the members here. As I recall the topless nature of them may have been a contributory factor to the global increase in migranes. I’m sorry to admit also that most of my friends are indeed ugly as well. […]

Hi all,
Been away for a bit. Went through a bit of a photographic barren spell whereupon the camera was just being carried around for excercise rather than being used. Had a break in Cyprus, and along with the obligatory family snaps, managed to sneak in a few \’proper\’ photos as well. Found this chap on the wall outside out house.…[Read more] -
