Clients are primarily professionals needing head and 3/4 shots for work related websites and promo materials. Some of my clients are also families with kids. In both cases, I have seen clients assume that only they would see the images, and twice now, have been surprised to have me want to put their images in my portfolio online. In one case, the client asked to have them removed. I guess my question is how folks deal with this. I have seen some photographers charge clients a surcharge when they request that images not be utilized outside of their original purposed for the client. That to me speaks of over-reaching and potentially damages the artist’s ability to safely maintain copyright. Your thoughts?
