It’s clearly a beautiful site for a photo but there are several things working against your image: The speckled lighting makes an even exposure almost impossible (solution is to shoot in full shade or full sunlight); the subject (the gardener) is lost in the shadows (solution is to overexpose him but then blow out other portions of image, or to open up shadows in post processing (and create noise). Finally, move your subject out of the center of the image. The eye is drawn to his green bag rather than his face. Cropping the bag out entirely would help.
