What about this one? It is also an attempt to bring out texture, and also to highlight the shadow of the railing.
This was taken in Central Park in NYC with the following details:

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L (93mm)
Canon EOS Rebel XSi (450D)
Focus is soft and texture still flat. Let me ask you: Do you think this image grabs attention?
I liked the design of the shadow; but I guess it is a bit boring. I have tried to simplify my subjects, and have been concerned they are too simple. I guess that feeling is accurate. I’m going to send another one to your comments.
