I always fail to capture a good front light photosthis is exactly what i am talking about

If I understand your question correctly, you’re having trouble with backlit images.
You would do either or two things
1. – take a series of bracketed exposures at different exposures (which would have been impossible in this photo situation as there are moving people) and then stack & blend them for the different areas aka HDR
or
2. – Use a flash for fill light (which would have been the choice for this image)
Although I like this particular photo of yours just the way it is.
