Hello Lightstalking friends: I’ve been enjoying this group for quite a while, and I have a question. Last week I was reviewing photos I had taken. So I was not shooting; I was looking at completed photos on the LCD screen of my Nikon D3100. I must have hit one of the buttons with my thumb or finger because I got a “box within a box” in the lower right-hand corner. At some point it disappeared. Was it some kind of cropping box or live view? I tried following the instructions for live view and also for face priority in my user’s guide but couldn’t duplicate the mysterious box. Do any of you know what I inadvertently created? Thanks.

Allows Edits? YesSounds to me like to did 2 things.
Preseed the + button to increase the magnification of the LCD. Then the direction pad to move that magnified square around.
Other than that I am not sure what it could be. Though I am sure somebody else here will.
