I’m arriving a little late on the “spider bite” subject, but JFYI, I evidently brushed under some shrubbery here while bug-hunting and had a Brown Recluse fall undetected down my collar. It bit me about an inch from my ‘belly-button’ (I’m thinking it fell to my belt line and then got trapped). That was November 2015. I’m still toting around a purple spot the size of a nickle. Book says it may even last up to two years. But absolutely no pain (as per the articles on Brown Recluse). Big necrotic knot flares up about every month and bursts. Still no pain. I still hunt bugs by being aware of overhanging limbs. Glad it was not Black Widow. Book says they are immediately painful.

This is not helping my fear of spiders, Bugz! We have black widows here, but they are very reclusive and I just make sure I am wearing my gloves when moving wood piles/poking in the rocks. I actually forced myself to do macros of spiders last year as a sort of exposure therapy. They are quite interesting and so very different from each other. Glad you are careful now and that the bite wasn’t painful. Happy bug hunting!

A Brown Recluse bite is nothing to scoff at bugz, I think you’re lucky that it’s not worse! One of my biggest fears next to violin & button spiders – all 3 of them quite abundant in my part of the world!

These were all taken in my garden at different times of the year.
This is ‘Pinky.’ She is a sulphur crested cockatoo who thinks she is human and she has sort of adopted us. If you look in her eye you actually can see part of my yard reflected. There’s the covered patio area and the blue patches are my pool.

https://flic.kr/p/FNdNRgA peeved, rained on Butcher Bird, not happy.

Amazing birds in your yard, conkerwood! My favourite is the Butcher Bird. Where are you located to get such a variety?

Okay, I will play…
Taken last spring (my third attempt at cloning, after doing two fun photos with my girls). This is my dream. To have enough “ME”s to get all the gardening done so that I can enjoy my book. And this is pretty much how my backyard garden looks right now, except that there are more weeds. Man, I wish I could clone myself!

Allows Edits? NoHahaha Leanne … Absolutely Love this! You did a great job cloning! I wish sometimes I could clone myself too ????

Yes, Frogdaily, it sure would make life easier. Although, if you have watched Mulitiplicity then you know that a copy of a copy just isn’t quite as sharp. Would have to give those clones the simple jobs 😉

LeanneC and Nancy
I live in South East coastal Queensland in Australia which means we are sub tropical. I did a quick count and I have 24 different species of bird that frequent my garden over the year, and by ‘frequent’ I mean they actually land in my garden There are another have dozen or so varieties which I see flying over but they don’t actually land.Glad you liked them.
