        I’m an amateur photographer living on up-state NY. Norwich to be exact. I am recently retired. Have been interested in photography most all my life. Really got the bug in high school. Spent a lot of time in the darkroom at school, even had one in my parents basement. Does anyone remember black and white film? My girlfriends use to say I did some of my best work in the dark. 🙂

        I also love sailing. Until last fall, my wife and I sailed a Catalina 320. This past spring we purchased a 39 foot Sea Ray power boat. Never saw that one coming. We also have two 14 foot Laser sailboats, so we are not done with sailing yet. When I’m not boating, I like to ride bike. Both road and mountain.

        I’m also always taking photographs. I buy and sell Nikon cameras and lenses. Check me out on Binghamton NY craigslist. If it’s from Norwich, it’s probably me. It’s a great way to meet other people interested in photography. One of my email addresses starts with NikonGuyNorwich.

        I’m a Nikon fan for more than 40 years!

          Hi Bro;

          Welcome to Light Stalking.

          He really is my brother. He lives in upstate NY and I live in Tennessee. Be kind to him he lives in cold and snowy NY where winter is 7 months of the year. 🙂

          Looking forward to see some photos soon.

          Tom

                  Hi there @whmorack, I do remember black and white film, actually I still develop, and I learned the other way around. I first got into digital (I still shoot mainly digital) and then I learned to develop film. I like to skip the part of saying “learn to shoot film” because basically once you get the logic around exposure, it doesn’t matter what you shoot with, light will always be measured in the same way. The experience of developing film and being limited to only 36 frames (or 12 if you are shooting 120) is extremely nurturing, because it teaches you to shoot less and think more.

                  Welcome to Light Staling, and please feel free to share anything you wish from questions to knowledge with us!
