Oh, I like this version also! Maybe brighten up the shadows in the child’s face, just a little, and this one is a winner in my bookCheck It Out

What beautifully round polka dots! I wonder if they were painted free hand. I love the creative expression of the occupants. Where are you?Check It Out

I think this is a nice picture, but I don’t get the sense of the rich surroundings. I agree with @falx, just crop it down and I think you will have a really nice picture, even if it doesn’t follow your theme.Check It Out

I like the child’s expression, but I’m not really thrilled with the composition. You have one water spout bisecting the entire photo. And, that same spout partially interferes with the right side of the child’s face. Maybe crop out the blurred spout in the foreground. Check It Out

Holy Moly! I love this one! But, since I am supposed to critique it, I am going to say that the apple to the far left looks like a Macintosh, and the rest look like Galas. Perhaps this mismatch was intentional poetic license. đŸ˜‰ Ha!Check It Out

I really love the lighting, but I think this picture would have a higher impact if the subjects face was turned just slightly more towards the viewer. Basically, too much of subject’s face is in shadow. The rest of it is beautiful!Check It Out

There is so much I like about this picture, but you need to tighten up the scene…it is too spread out.Check It Out

Jacques, this is a beautiful photo in so many ways, but what I don’t like about it is the closed shutters. Generally, closed windows, gates, door, entrance ways, etc, drive the viewer away. The message conveyed is, “stay out”. I would like this picture so much more if the shutters were flung open with a story to tell!Check It Out

In my own, subjective, personal opinion…I would like a wider crop. Tight crops are easy, but that’s just me.Check It Out

Here is the other version. I was afraid that this version had too much peripheral clutter. Maybe I’ll go back this week, if it isn’t raining, and try again.Check It Out

Sorry, I forgot EXIF data:
Shutter speed 1/2
f/22
ISO 125@valery, I don’t know what the official name of this fall is. I just gave it that name for the obvious reason. I have another crop version where the foreground has a second rock in the bottom left, and my darks are a little darker. I’ll see if I can post it here. Thanks

So, I was wandering around the back roads of VA, on my way home from a horse show, and I found theses beautiful falls. I decided to practice long exposure techniques, with which I have no experience except reading……so, any critique is welcome!Check It Out Reply to…

Oooh la-la. That is one “hot” pepper.
I agree with k-m-c, just a slight extension of the DOF on the pepper’s bum, and this picture sizzles.Check It Out

red rocks revised.jpg by Amy Longley on Light Stalking
I hope you don’t mind – I took the liberty of adding some saturation in specific areas of the pic. I love the color contrasts in the desert, and I felt that your original pic needed just a little more color “drama”. Of course, this is just my humble. subjective opinion. Check It Out
