I like the second version much better (if I can say that in the shark forum?). It might be interesting to crop in (or move in) even more on the dog’s face, really focussing on his eyes and slightly moody expression.

  • This photo doesn’t do anything to me– looks too much like a corporate postcard from the university. I agree with @Admin, there doesn’t seem to be a real focus and I’m not sure where to look. I think something interesting in the sky and a nice reflection on the water (eg sunset) would help.

  • I would try shooting from lower down so you get the flowers against a sky (maybe an interesting sky at sunset?) and no background trees. Also focus on a main flower in the foreground, so the eye knows what to look at.

What about shifting the angle slightly so you get a bit more of that tree in the front to add some foreground…[Read more]

What I was thinking was more canola (about 2/3 the picture) and move out for a wider shot, with the barn towards one side of the photo rather than center. I agree that something in the foreground would be great– perhaps one…[Read more]

This is one of my favourite architecture photographs. I love neo-classical buildings, and find the juxtaposition of this former Bank of Montreal (currently Hockey Hall of Fame) and downtown glass sky scraper in Toronto very pleasing.
