bugga….flowers and cats are my favourite subjects 🙂
Thank you P and Michael for taking the time to comment. I really do appreciate it.First of when I read your reply….I thought whoa…boring….then my bottom lip started wobbling.
THEN I took a deep breath and realised that yes I have lost my mojo….I used to love taking close-up photos of particulars….bricks, different contours etc etc.
Then for some reason I started focusing on a different area. trying to..I don’t know…broaden my scope of photography. and all it has done is made me forget what I used to enjoy in the first place. looking at the little pictures.
I have not been happy with my photos for quite a while and I have just been going around in circles trying to work out what I am doing wrong.
This is a nice photo….but it is boring.
Thank youAhhh I see your point. unfortunately this was it…no other trees. just more water. I was just taken by the pretty colours 🙂
Photo of a sunrise over Lake Alexandrina looking towards a small sandy island.
This was taken on automatic because
1. I am using my partners camera to see what the difference is between his and mine. I think mine needs cleaning
2. I am losing confidence as all of my photos lately look bad. I am a member of pixoto where other members vote on your photos. this one has lost badly on the site.
so any advise that can be offered would be great.I need some helpful critique on my work please. I am only a novice shooting raw/manual for the last few months. I purchased my camera 2nd hand and I am determined to take some good photos.
Living in my area, rural South Australia I find it difficult to take interesting shots….I love the scenery but find other people don’t. the area around here is flat with undulating hills.canon 50d

This is truly fabulous….just love it!!!
I believe the horizon is level as I used grids to make sure….I think the unfortunate slopes and rises gives it the impression it is crooked 🙁
and yes I see that it is rather untidy with partly cut off rocks. and agree with the sky….I went to heavy handed
thank you 🙂
I cannot give a critique as I am only just starting to use manual on my own camera 🙂
but I do love this shot. The colours are very beautiful and I like the feel of the narrow confines pushing me to go forward to the end.
It actually makes me feel nervous as I wonder what could be hiding behind the wrought iron doors.
but ohhhh I didn’t read the rules properly…I’m not supposed to say nice things????while I have been taking photos for a few years I am an amateur…who has recently started using the manual settings on my new camera (canon 50D) and shooting in raw.
I am still having issues working out my settings and often my skies are overblown.
this shot was the best of a bad bunch…i have boosted saturation.Click Here: Members
