Thanks for your good comments.
I was able to go back to the history of the edits and find the early one without cropping.
I did what you suggested; as well as leveled it.
It looks a lot better now.
Thanks,
AlexThanks for your helpful comments.
I keep forgetting about the new adjustment tool in LR 5 to fix the horizon, etc.
I just hit it and agree I needed to do this before sending out.
I’ll play around with the different B&W options.Unfortunately, I was on a boat passing underneath, and will not be back again.
I like the idea, however, so if next year I’m there again, I try the diagonal shot.
Thanks for your comment.Thank you very much for your helpful comments.
This experience in the Shark Tank has been constructive.Appreciate everyones’ comments.
I specifically have submitted an abstract image because I seem to be attracted to these types of photos and am concerned that they may not really result in anything interesting.
I will take the suggestions to heart and continue sending in stuff for comments.
ThanksThank you to both of you.
The bridge supports were definitely leaning to the right. I have now adjusted them.
I am not being successful in bumping up the contrast. When I go to Silver Efex Pro, I can get some of the struts on underside of the bridge to lighten up, but over all it looks a bit strange.
should I make the bridge itself blacker so it stands out against the sky? Thanks.
I will go back to the structure sliders to see what I can do.
However, I agree this is not a very interesting photo.
I agree with you.Wow, I agree with you completely !
I was fooling around with it and also think inverting it is a good idea as well as more clarity.Thank you. I have been concerned that maybe I have put in too much editing; but nevertheless the result is what i was looking for.
Thank you for your feedback.
I am having fun creating these “edited” impressions. I guess I will continue with this
type of photography.Thank you for your reminder to include details, which are:
1/40 sec.; f/8; ISO 400; 60mm (Canon 24-105 f/4L)
Canon 6D.
The photo is a reflection in a pond of trees with spring leaves & flowers.
My intent was to make the photo look like an Impressionist painting.
In order to achieve this effect, I had to “play around” with various filters in
NIK Color Efex Pro 4.
I would like comments on whether it is acceptable to apply such extensive use of editing
to get the type of impression I want to achieve.
