I like the second version better.
I agree. The fuzziness makes me work too hard to see it and I feel it needs something more complex to draw interest – I do not see the 5 doors – if I did, it might be more graphic
I agree with everyone here also.
I love the dark clouds and the concept of the composition. However, the lighting has more contrast to the darkness than I would like. The balance seems off. It might work better for me to have the building be a bit larger. I think the texture and shapes of the front of the building might be more interesting to highlight than the tower – but you might have to get that at a different time – maybe if you shot this an hour earlier.
I prefer this version
I find this photo very warm and appealing and I am drawn to the details of the dinnerware and the window. I don’t find it that dreary, so I would put it in a different category, maybe mysterious or in the dark.
This is pretty, but it doesn’t look dreary to me and a bit over-lightened.
I really like the boat and the split toning quality and colors. I think I would have liked the trees to be more out of focus or their exposure adjusted differently somehow to make more of a contrast with the boat. The bright branches on the upper left corner are distracting to me and fit more in the plane with the boat. Perhaps you can clone them out?
Your subject is great. I find the vignette muddy looking. Would it work to crop it more tightly instead? Not sure.
Dreary and lonely
Dreary but inspiring. Would love to see it in person.
Dreary but somehow bright and comical too.
In this, dreary becomes painful and moving. Like the tone and lack of focus.
In your photo dreary becomes intriguing. Love the proportion of tiny figure to huge water
love the color, the ankle and the glistening
