That could definitely be a good way to build incoming links to your website and increase your page rank. It would also be easy to track who is using your photos since you could trace the hotlinks through your site stats. My main concern is unauthorized commercial use since I license my images.

I didn’t watermark my images for a long time since I was mostly concerned with people making prints and the resolution was just too low.
