As an event shot, this doesn’t work…the back of the man’s head in the foreground, the back of the father’s head, the inattention of the bride. I do like that the bride is highlighted so that the attention goes straight to her face.

Move to another spot to shoot. The pillars don’t add anything but distraction.
I like the other shot better that you posted. More effective as a monotone but adding a little contrast wil brighten up the whites. It looks a little flat.

You might try opening up those shadows a bit. Detail in the buildings would be nice….doesn’t have to be drastic.

You can easily blur the background at this point. No need to be a photoshop master.
In Photoshop, make a backgound layer, go to filters > blur and choose gaussian (or any you prefer) at around 20%. Go the bottom of your layers box and click the third one from the left and add a mask to the layer. Then choose brush tool , make sure your…[Read more]
