Yeah I keep mucking with it and can never get it to look right. Next step will be further cropping. I myself like just that edge of snow at the bottom so the trees awe anchored. That may have to be sacrificed along with cloud to maintain te 2×3 aspect ratio or I might have to move to a more traditional photography crop. Once I do this I will repost.

WHile I am guilty of over doing the contrast I think this one could use just a touch more. But the composition, subject and lighting are outstanding. Oh, did I say that? I mean, oh well, compliment is out!

Perhaps a little lighter? It adds charachter in color, but like you said, dead space, in B&W. I will try a little dodge on it. How about the contrast?

I was tooling down I395 when a snow storm hit. I captured this image in color and was somewhat pleased with it. But I thought I would make it into a B&W and see what it looks like. The clouds on the right somewhat trouble me but not sure. Wondering what folks think about the post on this and if I have the contrast up a bit too high.

Thanks all. Agreed to all points, and I will try to correct the tree lean as it was a 10mm lens. I for some reason have a propensity to putting a tree on the left side when I compose a shot. I try to hem in any wandering eyes that read left to right. At least that works on my pea brain.
Off to lightroom to make a few corrections. THANKS…[Read more]

This shot was not only about the lake, but the clouds. I unfortunately was there 2 minutes late to capture a full moon which moved behind the clouds. My question is more about the foreground and use of the reeds. Is this too distracting or does it work as a leading line into the photo as desired. Shot at ISO 100, 10mm, f16 at .8 sec.

I love the soft tones and look. I wonder if this was taken to B&W or perhaps another B&W process (sepia, crosstone, etc) it might have a bit more impact. I am trying to abide by the rules of finding things wrong, and really dont see a real need. It is more of a curiosity.

Yeah, a tiny bit of camera shake. This one is not destined to be printed large. Not bad for hand holding at .8 seconds for an old guy! đŸ˜‰
Thanks agan for the comments and critique all!

I see the confusion. Basically I was trying to say that it did not feel like there were too many images. Not at all a comment on the image quality, which I enjoyed very much.
