My first reaction is the sky and clouds are too dark, like stated by Lightandshadow I think it gives an ominous feel that doesn’t fit the rest of the scene. Also I wonder if a vertical crop would work.

I would agree on the little larger crop and my preference would be to see a little more detail in the shadows, but that’s just me.

I agree, too much blown out sky. Also I wonder what effect it would have using a lower perspective.

Yeah, I too think the foreground is too prominent and cuts off the one surfers foot. Also, that black curved line keeps drawing my attention away from the surfers.

I agree with Nikon-Nut that you captured the mood and that the light from the window (and also on the left) is a little distracting. In my opinion there is too much black for this shot. Moving a step or two closer and a little higher pov would give us some more green and less shadow at the bottom.Check It Out

Hi; In addition to the roof line, I don’t feel the foreground adds any interest to the shot. This could be one of those times to break the rule of thirds by using a square crop and filling the frame with the gazebo and it’s reflection. Another possibility would be if there is anything interesting on the shore that could be included in the…[Read more]
