Focus on the eyes when you shoot either humans or animals… you have the hat very sharp but the face/eyes are not.Check It Out

This screams out for a tight square crop! try to put some texture back into the right hand side with the S curve, maybe go wild with the colours and make it more abstract? when something lacks context abstract is always a good option…
Might also work as a B&W…. as long as you wack up the contrast and improve the texture…Check It Out

James replied to the topic Macro Shot… in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 10y, 6mo ago
looks fine on my pc exposure wise…. it isn’t a macro shot, had you filled the frame with his face you would be closer to what is typical of macro work…
as this portrait stands his head could do with a little more breathing space, some sharpening would help bring some texture back to his skin a bit of flash would of given him some catch…[Read more]

I think some times less is more, you could lose the really bright sea completely this would pull focus up to the moon.
Someone else will say something about that lonely cloud on the top left the eye travels to it… but not so badly as to distract…

If you cropped it so that the point of focus was in the top right hand corner it makes a stronger statement, you could do local editing so that it was the only yellow thing in the picture but you run the risk of it looking badly edited so it might be better to sticking to just cropping…

It works well, not to my taste but that is beside the point, it is a good piece of abstract art.
I do think that more colours might help with the magic element of the title. A more swirly bokeh from a different lens might also of been a different way to go… I have a manual Helios 44m that would do that and you can get them really…[Read more]

The first edit was washed out and lacked the texture you sought, this new edit is much closer to giving you the texture you want, you still need more texture on the skin… there is more too just adding contrast you need to play around with the curves reducing the highlights on your subject would stop the washed out look from being so…[Read more]

Beautiful, composition is brilliant, I do agree about the bark but personally I am more of a purist and just like things as they are…
Only thing that would improve this shot would of been if the snake had looked in your direction so you could capture a glint in its eye!
Well done!

1/100Out walking the dogs experimenting with wide angles, what do you guys think?
I know that the first thing will be use a smaller f stop but this kit lens struggles past 5.6, does any other canon user have the same issue?

Please put up some notes on how this shot was achieved. this way any critique will help you better.
It looks very unrealistic, the ripples don’t coincide with the shadows or with each other…

Exposure is an easy fix on most software.
Pity you just missed her other hand from the shot and the guys hairy armpit certainly doesn’t help either lol. A wider angle lens would of be a better as a general guide in events like that, you can always chop of but you can’t add on is my thinking.
Picture lacks any sort of wow factor it needs…[Read more]

Any keystoning results in chopping the steeple of, though I went back and looked again at the building and it isn’t built straight either!
No extra clouds I am afraid, the camera wasn’t capable of capturing the more subtle differences, having waited ages for a good set of clouds these were the best in 3 months!
I am using DXO optical pro…[Read more]
