@nikon-nut, understood on all fronts. Aperture user, not privy to all of the wonderful features in Photshop. Could have done a bracketed set and worked it in NIK HDR. Midday does suck for landscape, most times, but I was limited by access. We were with a friend who had access to this area, usually off limits. Had to go when we went. I’ll rework it a little and repost. There was some detail available in the dark trees. Thanks for the honest input.
Nikon D700, Nikon 16-35 f4 lens. 22mm @ f8, 1/500, ISO200. Auto white balance, no exposure compensation, matrix metering. Focused on rocks in foreground then re-composed. Tripod mounted. Processed with NIK Silver Efex. Shot in mid-day light, harsh shadows. Will be more specific in the future. Thanks. Rip it up!
Agree, could probably pull a little more detail out of the dark trees. Was going for underexposed to draw the eye to the bright bit of the understructure.
So, all-in-all, crappy composition. I agree. Not much to look at, correct? A more defined fixed object, perhaps?
My first post on Light Stalking. First attempt at long exposure zoom. Anyone with experience with this technique, tips would be appreciated. thanks, folks.
