          Yes…background isn’t much help because it IS a “family album shot”. LOL…it’s my daughter and I took it on the fly 🙂 However, there’s something about it I love and I was hoping to try and fix it up a bit, but couldn’t figure out what to do with it. I think it’s doomed to be a “snapshot”.

          I’ll definitely try bringing down the contrast and adding more fill to the side.

          The composition and head room have much to do with the quickness and spontaneity of the shot. I’ll try cropping to see if it helps!

            I’m new, too…and this is my first reply to a photo!

            I think it could also use a little bit more clarity/definition. The ridges in the mushrooms are wonderful and I would definitely make that pop more than anything else in the photo. Maybe try brightening it a bit, too, and softening the background to enhance the focus on the mushrooms.

            What software do you use for post-production?
