No, I use photoshop. I’d like to learn it soon though.
I really like the edit you did Lenny. It might be a bit extreme for me but I would like to make the photo less flat. How did you create this edit?
Also, I just noticed that they’re fake flowers, so the tighter crop makes it less obvious that they are by cutting off the stem that’s somewhat distracting in the first place.
I agree with Janis, I prefer the bottom one. I think the tighter crop allows there to be a greater focus on the flowers and their contrast from the rest of the image.
I’ve been busy the last few days so I haven’t been able to edit this, but thanks for your suggestions! While I like the edit 3pco did, I think I’m looking for a simpler edit, nothing too extreme. I removed the distracting powerlines, experimented with the shadows and cropped the photo a bit more. I also made the photo black and white.

I did some research on the former drive in theater and found out it’ll be torn down and turned into some houses and stores soon. I’m glad I got this picture before it was too late!

Thanks! Also, I was taking photos yesterday and spotted this mourning dove on a fence.
I also have this photo of a Broad-winged hawk. I wish it were a sharper image. Unfortunately it was pretty far away.
Shared this photo in the shark tank earlier. Thanks to Robert, I now know it’s an Eastern Kingbird.
I use photoshop for all my edits.
I took your suggestions and cropped the photo at the bottom, and I think I like it! I like the composition more with the crop. I also darkened the background a little. I think it helps the background become less busy. Thanks for all your suggestions!
Here’s version three.
Found this photo from a while back.
Thanks for your critiques! I can see how the branch above the bird can be a bit distracting and I definitely agree that the bird’s chest is a little too bright. Here’s a new version.
Feel free to critique this version as well!
I think I agree with Steve, I’d prefer if the brightness was toned down a bit. I would also reduce the color saturation a little more to make the greens in the umbrella stand out more against the grass.
I have a preference of taking natural light portraits. Thanks for the info. I’m looking forward to improving my photos!
