Thank you! And you know, I have never noticed that rock behind her head until now! It’s amazing what we can see through another pair of eyes. I have many shots of her in portrait orientation; however, the expression on her face here draws me to it and I think that is why it is one of my favorites. This was taken in March around 4:30 or 5 in the afternoon. It was a somewhat cloudy day, but what was left of the afternoon sun was sufficient in my opinion for adequate light. There was no on-camera or off-camera light source used. She was facing the sun as it was starting to lower behind me. I believe the lens I was using was Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR. What you cannot tell from the angle, she was actually in the middle of a creek sitting on a large rock, hence the rock behind her head. f/5.6, 1/320 second, 190mm, ISO 400.

I am going to have to agree with the previous posters. This image is entirely too flat. The mountains have so much going for it with all the depth and details, but this image does it no justice. Contrast would make a huge difference. If you are using NX 2, you can achieve this by moving the contrast slider to the right. Also moving the sharpness slider could help your image as well, but you do not want to go overboard with that one. A little goes a long way and it is possible to have an over-sharp image.
