As is, it is a good environmental portrait.
I would be wondering what she is making if the bowl of greens were gone. Whether to crop out part of a story is subjective. Maybe crop tighter while keeping the bowl of greens. @marisajoku – thanks for the colour temperature suggestion. I don’t think I can selectively apply a colour temperature adjustment using Apple’s Aperture but I have adjusted the vibrancy in the foreground in an attempt to de-emphasize that area so the focus is easier to maintain on the ruin.
