Hi Bruce,
I think it’s a fine image. I would crop more off the right side and improve the middle grays under the highlights area. I think the contrast is fine, it just needs the evidence of textural range values but don’t overdo it.

Wow! The only thing I might do is warm it up a bit.
I would dodge the hanging coats to bring out more detail in the objects that make the image more about the cloakroom- the figure has become the subject.
High, not her
I would consider dodging the mid-range her value areas, particularly on the line that proceeds from the left side of the drum.
You need to tighten your crop. That many background elements only work if they are part of the subject’s personal environment.
Thank you, Falxi! That seems to be the consensus.
Thank you, Erik! You know the chaos too, and that is unfortunate.
Maybe I’ll add some blur in future images of her garden.
Thank you, Frogdaily! The images do say much more in context.
Thank you, Tom!
And you have mine!
Thank you, Tobie!

Thank you Kent. I am going for an emotional tone, so I will increase the contrast a bit as suggested, but I think the darkness goes with the idea.
I’m sorry you had to go through that, it’s not easy.
My best to you!
Hi Dahlia,
I shoot once a week in the garden. I use black and white there because her attention no longer includes the outdoors. I use color for inside where she is more active.
Okay, more contrast then.
Thank you!
Could be, I’ll try your suggestions and see how they feel. Thank you!
I have no idea how to get my image on this post.
