When you do you won’t regret it. It’s the sharpest lens I own, and the cheapest(other than the kit lenses.) I use it for my portrait shoots. If I switch lenses I CAN see the difference. But there’s nothing like a good tripod, either! I got the 50, my husband got a tripod, lol!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 50mm for portraits, and for flowers, bugs, interesting DOF shots. It’s not as stealthy when shooting around a party, however, but you can get some great detail shots, too.
