It took a very long time indeed for photography to become accepted as a respectable medium for artistic expression.
Here’s a drain cover photographed on a phone camera. Is it art or is it merely my way of showing you how I see my world? If it were hand printed on a platinum-gelatin paper at 20 x 16 inches, framed and signed, would that make it a fine art print?
Always more questions than answers. If a person buys a photograph for $1000 does that make it art or an investment?
Can we call ourselves photographic artists?
