For those members who have never had the privilege of visiting a game reserve in Africa I attach the above photo of the entire family of which the POTW was taken. Elephants live in strict families headed up by a Matriarch, possible the one back left. The POTW was taken a few minutes after this one. For those interested in learning more about these incredible creatures, I highly recommend the book ” The Elephant Whisperer ” by Lawrence Anthony. Very easy to read. Thanks.

Thanks for these comments. Yes I was trying to create a high contrast image but seems I went too far. Cannot find the original but attached is one taken a few moments earlier. Taken in Tembe Elephant Reserve, South Africa. iso 800, f5.6,1/320 Nikon 80-400 @85. Nikon D700.
