My sincere thanks to all for your comments/suggestions. I also noticed the poles and thought about taking them out. I think the camera setting for sharpness is higher than necessary but at a normal setting I was unable to maintain the kind of sharpness I was looking for. I’ll go back to the original and see if I can improve the image. Thanks again!
Thanks, Dahlia. It was a beautiful place to hang out.
Thanks for your comments/suggestions. I’ll see what I can do.

The flowers are close and there’s lots of rain. I’m going to try the shot again taking your suggestions into account.
Good call. Actually, I found out about the flags after I took the photo. My original intention was just a lighted building at night.
I’ve been trying to match the color of the first shot but have been unable to do it. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. There were several kinds of lighting.
I’ve learned my lesson. I didn’t have PP at the time and could see the value of taking up space. Now I know better.
Thanks for your critique. I tried several angles but couldn’t get hands in the lens without covering his face with the lamp.
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions. I don’t know that I like this version any better but perhaps it’s the best I can do with the original. Magnolia blooms don’t last very long and I’ll have to wait for another to try again. I wanted to show the texture of the petal to the top right and the original picture was too tightly cropped to change it much. In addition, the petal on the bottom right was entirely in the shade. I might try to use a reflector next time to soften the shadows. Thanks again for the help.
I liked the color one best as well but I wanted to try the monochrome. Thanks for noticing the wagon wheel.
Thanks for all your tips. I’ll try to find some time to make your suggested adjustments. There is a little more on the right in the original and on my computer the sky looks blue. I’m still learning how to use Lightroom.
I recently purchased a 100-300 telephoto lens and was practicing taking close-ups of “new life” in Spring when I saw this wasp. It kept coming back for more so I kept trying to get a good shot. I guess it does come down to a sense of wonder about creation.
