I’m still getting used to macro photography and am struggling with my depth of field. Took this one this morning at The Butterfly Place in Westford, MA. https://butterflyplace-ma.com/
nice pic
Beautiful pic. I looked at the exif info on Flickr. 90mm lense? I’m guessing Tamron macro. That’s what I have. I try to shoot in apature priority and dial it all the way up as far as it will go. F64 for that lense I believe. You will have to use a flash. Cannon makes a real nice ring flash for macro work. I shoot Nikon so I use a R1 speed light with 2 SB200s. I usally hand hold 1 of them when out in the field.
Yep, I’m using a Tamron 90mm. Just got it. I tried working in apature priority but had trouble with it. I’m using a Canon Rebel Xsi. I couldn’t use a tripod because there were too many kids when I went so trying to capture something meant getting it quick.
PS. I live near Hartford CT. It’s not all that far to Westford MA. Thanks for the link. I’ll have to go there and check it out.
Nice! They open to photographers on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month at 9am so that you have the place to yourself without a bunch of bratty kids. I think it would be worth it because there were a good amount of people there when I went and it was a little difficult at times.
So many beautiful butterflies there and some really cool multicolored birds. I tried to photograph them but they kept disappearing. š
