This was a score! You did a great job framing the scene.

Nice one! I like the way the trees complement the cloud shape!

Good observation about the trees, Toby. I knew those trees were contributing more than I would expect a foreground like that to contribute. I just could not put it into words. Both of your pictures are lovely, but the second one, well it glows. Love, love, love the foreground on it.

Since this is under Photography Throwdowns, I guess I can just as well add something of my own – taken from a boat on the Zambezi river (border of Botswana / Zambia):

Not a sunset but a sunrise:

The best I can do is resurrect a SharkTank photo. I have thousands upon thousands of pictures but maybe two of light rays. Really? In looking, though, I did find some candidates of images I can delete.

The light of the setting sun is truly a gift from God. Here is my contribution. This was taken near Amelia Island, Florida. Schooner

                            Great capture!
The closest I’ve come was a failed attempt to get a sunset from a cliff near Big Sur, California. Sea fog rolled in and I nearly packed it up. I’m glad I stayed. We work with what we get sometimes.

The aspect is well chosen! Very peaceful scene.

Thank you and thank you for your help in my first posting. I think I have it figured out now. But I’m going to start a Flicker account, just in case. Plus some photos seem to lose a bit in this small format.
