OK, game for a giggle! A tap, a bowl, a flash and reflector, a DSLR, lots of patience and lots and lots and LOTS of frames!! Not up to the specialists’ results, I fear.

They’re great @gordonjames! I never managed to capture a collision in all my attempts using the tap.

Thank you David, although I’m not entirely sure this collision was ‘captured’ – more like ‘fleetingly snapped’! I must give it another go, now I’ve seen more of your work and also that of a friend of mine who has invested in all the timing gear. Given me a few ideas…

Rain Drop Splash.jpg by David Sill on Light Stalkingf/5, 1/250, 20mm, ISO 200. February 23, 2015. Rain drops were hitting the balcony railing. Shot using sports setting in bursts of seven frames. Caught two drops on the rail in this frame. Cropped to the best one. This was a found drop, not a setup. And it used natural light, not flash.

Sure @idaybr – it is simply bubble liquid as you would buy from any toy store. I have added a few drops of glycerine to strengthen the mix. I use a drinking straw to blow the bubbles and just drop the liquid through it. You’ll be amazed how many you can do before the bubble bursts…

Those are really interesting, @dchester1001! I’ll admit I don’t spend hours of my life searching the web for drop images, but all the same I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like these. Fascinating.

Walk on water by yrfotos (idaybr) on Light StalkingWhat do you think about this one dchester1001?
Tried the water drop with the ISO set at 100 this time.
The shape is pretty interesting on this one too. Shape of a man/woman (definitely not Jesus) walking on water.Sony SLT A57

I loved the excursion through it all. How in the world did you achieve that upward pulse completely inside a bubble. Amazing!
