That photo is out of the camera, all optical. 100mm lens across a windfarm in Kansas. No editing other than basic Lightroom edits. Yes, I loved seeing the old windmill and intentionally worked to frame it as best as I could given the time constraints of the quickly setting sun. 🙂
I’m really a sucker for rays of sun and sea. Love this.
Great mood here and the lack of color sets a better tone for the entire shot. I like it.
Great photo! The ripples add another dimension to maybe a more typical shot. Very nice.
I always love reflection photos. And the reflection is exquisite here!
Kind of magic… what the light is doing on the cactii. Pretty awesome!
Thank you, Rob! What’s always interested me about this picture (it was taken a few months ago) is that few people talk about the juxtaposition. Thanks for pointing it out and that’s what I love most about the image. The colors are pretty neat, but I like the ‘new’ set against the ‘old’. And as you say, I prefer the old. I great up in Illinois in a farm town. Those old ones are the only ones we had. Thanks for the nice comments.
Thank you, and thank you bracketing! 🙂
I commonly find myself shooting into the sunset and always seem to under expose, but I like it. 🙂
The magic of silhouettes involving sunsets is that you get much more dramatic lighting… which is my FAVORITE! And I have too many to choose from 🙂
Thank you, Graham. Just one of those lucky ones where the seagull completely blocked the sun.
Thank you, Pamela. I appreciate it!
I was in a hurry and calling it something, but wasn’t sure the correct term for framing.
An example of a negative frame. Or opposite frame.
