I agree about the foreground, you lose the sweeping feel of the sand and ocean with the rock in the foreground. It really depends on what you were trying to get out of the image.
I love Leme.Check It Out

After dark, continuedThis was taken with my Nikon D300 using a 35mm lens at f2.8 and about 1/30 with ISO at 800. The photo was taken in Golden Gai, a district in Tokyo, Japan famous for having about 300 bars in a 400m by 400m area. The bars fit an average of 5-10 customers each.

You are so right, thank God for cropping. It’s hard to move drunk and stoned people at 3am, so I did what I could.Check It Out

Thanks. The project has more to do with time rather than light, or lack of light. Here’s a link to other pics.

The power to this photo is the contrast of the backs of the heads with her smiling face. I think the effect of the wide aperture really sharpened the focal area on her and creates a nice contrast between the anonymous figures passing her and the smile. Very nice.Check It Out

After darkThis photograph is part of a long-term project on what people do “after dark”. Shot was taken at 3am in early April in the Lapa area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil using a Fuji x100s, 1/60, f2, ISO 1600.
Feel free to make comments, I will post more from this series as I get more involved with the website.
Thanks,
DJ

Thanks, those are all interesting comments. To add detail, this was shot with a Fuji x100s set with shutter at about 1/60 and aperture of 8, ISO was 200.Check It Out
