Kudos for an excellent brief article. The only competition I enter is to support my photography club’s annual show. I do that with the understanding of the points made in this article. I’m 78 years young […]

FORCED MUST FOLLOWWhy? I have not been able to be here for technical reasons the past month. Now I can’t do anything because I am not about to follow people I have not been able to learn about. I might assume they are fine folks but in this day and age assumptions are not a comfortable venue for me. I was here and attempted to take part. I…[Read more]

Conclusion: At best we know the writer has no original maker in his hip pocket. It seems strange to me that the original maker is supported while in conclusion the claim of third party support has been the way […]

When I get one almost outstanding it drives me nuts. I feel you have a good capture that might be even better cropping to move the image slightly to the right and possibly remove a little of the water. Check It Out

Interesting! I think the tower is just beyond the mass of dark foreground and not at the end of the pier. I would suggest cropping to make your image delightful to your eyes. This will most likely include PM to remove the parts of the remaining tower and rebuilding the end of the pier. All of the water and structure mass is there to be used for…[Read more]

Looking only at the image I would like to see the image severely cropped to remove the wasted space and better present the subject. I believe to go any further I would have to enter philosophy not the purpose here. Check It Out

Sorry I was confined to the bleachers thirty feet above the gym floor. I got no images as expected. The floor area was grossly over populated with wrestlers, coaches and administrative people. I have no press credentials.

I acknowledge and state my appreciation for all the comments for each has some value. My only surprise is that there was no Sports Action Photographer having any input either amateur or working professional. I was not at all sure what to expect as this was my first critique of this nature.
While this critique was active we all had the…[Read more]

“….there are ways to overcome “. Amen. I see a ton of interesting parts each of which could be a story into it’s self. Based on what I can see the structure would be most difficult to capture standing alone, in my opinion. Is there a curio shop where other’s photographic work might be studied? Could the natives and or tourists become an…[Read more]

@jonathantimar……………thank you. We had three seconds three times. I was shooting continuous RAW which cuts the nine frames a second down somewhat. The lady did this three times. As said above it was a back flip . I chose the image which was the finished or flat out and falling image full open. The previous close images are coming out…[Read more]

Stepping back a little…………….good point. One camera photographer found me with 17 X 55 f2.8 IS lens on 7Dbody working close to capture the image….working a bit to fast to make the capture needing minimal crop. I could not get the desired composition with my 70 X 200 f2.8 IS because of sideline equipment, the boundary chains, the…[Read more]

I’m new to the site and the Shark Tank. I think some thoughtful comments have been made here and more should evolve as the forum gains experience. I tossed one of my best shots to date in the Sharks Tank a day ago. I’m standing patiently awaiting some additional criticism. I am with a background in sports, fine art and hopefully an improving…[Read more]

Unfortunately this is live action not a photo opp. We are situated between two mountains. The sky you see is the North Eastern sky. If I were to move into position for a side shot the sky would be eliminated and the mountain becomes the background. The hour was between twelve and one PM. The sun angle would not change that much…just the…[Read more]

The young lady in the air has just completed in about three seconds a one and a quarter back flip and is opened near perfectly for a safe landing. Her hair in the air indicates the present movement. What would make the girl in the air more aesthetic in your opinion?Check It Out
