Hi @vicastur
Just want to apologise. Really didn’t mean my comments to sound as harsh as they did. A re-read is quite embarrassing and I hope you accept my apologies. In fact, I’m going to remove the comments all together as they really shouldn’t be here.
My sincere apologies once again. -

Great. Have always envied people who can snap lightning. To get the fireworks too is brilliant. Love it!!! ๐ I know this isn’t the tank, but if I could offer a suggestion – perhaps less blue/purple in the sky? Other than that, love it ๐

Yeah, I’ve also started using wix. Really easy to layout stuff and get exactly the look you’re going for. I like it.

Ed replied to the topic Can you find anything wrong with this? in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 10y, 7mo ago
Yep, I’m afraid I can. Technically it appears to tick the right boxes insofar as dof, exposure, etc, are concerned. What it doesn’t do is say WOW!
It’s kind of like taking pictures of a building. Anyone can do it but the trick is to grab the viewers’ attention with a stunning shot. That is done through finding an interesting take on what is a…[Read more] -

Cheers guys
Yeah, as I said it was a spur of the moment shot taken on a day out – so no flash, reflectors or other equipment on me, least of all @michael-lloyd‘s suggestion for a “white flowing dress or sexy short sweater dress”, I’m afraid to say. Will definitely bear that in mind on future days out though ๐
No objection to removing the…[Read more] -

Yes, needs more space, especially in the foreground. Think rule of thirds. Also, are they close to the shoreline? if so, perhaps an idea to include that

A spur of the moment shot. I was taken by the lines and shadows produced by the sunlight coming through the window and wanted to capture them. Does it ‘do anything’ for the sharks? Or is it just a snap?

Yes, agree her website shows she knows her way around a camera competently enough. But also agree that the tank is a place to display photos you’re not sure about and want some constructive critical feedback on in order to make better. There really is no point in posting up sthg you think or know is good. I only stick up those pics I have doubts…[Read more]

Hmm, just out of interest guys, is sepia considered a bit naff or cliched these days?

B/W I can do, and white out the background too. Will send a version later as not at home at the moment.

Unfortunately my photoshop skills aren’t up to getting rid of the background entirely ๐ Any suggestions? -

Hi everyone
First up, apologies for not replying to all the useful comments on my last pic – work and holiday got in the way. But thanks to all.
Anyway, on with the new pic. Taken in a dark room looking out onto a very bright and sunny background. Is the background too bright? Should I edit out the lines on her neck? And is the strand of hair…[Read more] -

Hi Helen
I’m afraid I have to agree with @jonathantimar and others on this ๐ When taking portraits outside on a sunny day, you have to be really careful about shadows and how they fall on the face. And yeah, squinting into the sun is never flattering no matter how adorable the subject(s). If you have the sun behind your subject – or even to the…[Read more] -

Thanks guys. Perhaps I shouldn’t have mentioned the mood I was going for as it clearly is open to interpretation. The main thing is is it a good photo, so am happy with the response to that. And as @kagey1 suggests, I’ll leave it up to the individual to interpret it as he/she wants.
As for the panda effect on the right eye, yes, that irritates…[Read more] -

The title of this photo pretty much sums up the mood I wanted to capture. The question is have I succeeded? Sure, she doesn’t look happy. But does the photo capture anything deeper than a girl standing by a window looking unhappy?
I have left colour in as I felt b/w would be too obvious. But are the colours too warm? Also, do the street lights…[Read more] - Load More
