Thanks Kent for your review, however a different POV was impossible as the photo was taken from a moving boat, your comment that the entire situation was rendered meaningless to someone who wasn’t there I find objectionable, the subject has obviously led a very hard, yet simple, life, what are small things to people like me and you are probably massive hurdles to her, my photo aimed to project that there are vastly different people in this world, not all of them as fortunate as others.
I have enjoyed being a member of this fine group for the last few weeks, however I think my time here is done. Thanks Simon, glad you liked the pic, will fix it up as mentioned.
Thanks Tobie, I would love to see your pic if you can find it, I do recall a similar temple you descibe but it is in Bali, I will photograph that next year..
Thanks very much Simon, I sure do hope it helps me as much as its done for you, fully agree with all you have written and will take onboard for future shots.
Thanks Tobie,
Your comments are valid, it was a spur of the moment pic initially to capture the rays of the sun behind the cloud, I just added (by relocating myself) the person to add some scale. The comment that this could be a sea shot from anywhere in the world is also valid, but then very few sea shots are identifiable by landmarks…now I know why this forum is called the shark tank…
No longer in Phuket but in my 5 days there I took over 1000 photos, so plenty more to come, and hundreds from the beautiful temples.
Very nice aspect, thanks for this idea..
Thanks for the lovely comment Albirder, regarding the ‘three legs’ I think its actually the persons right hand being used for balance (the balance to stop them falling over not the balance used in photography)
Or it could be Rolf Harris….(old mans joke!)

Excellent, I love it..
Maybe try mounting the camera on a tripod and use your timer, he may not realise he’s being photographed if you don’t have the camera in your hand..
Hi all, Graham is my name, I used to own 2 Canon AE1’s well before digital was out (one always loaded with B&W film, but of course then you get married and some things have to be sold….then comes divorce and back to photography, I own a Sony A35 with 2 lens (a 55-200 zoom and a 18-70) I ALWAYS shoot in RAW and use Lightroom (mostly) for post production (also have a few other programs I love, like Photoshop, Google NIX, Perfectly Clear V2, Vivenza and a few others.
I see photo opportunities almost everywhere and love the creative side of the art. Live in Queensland Australia. -
