- Thsnk you Tobie and Rob. Exactly the kind of critique I was hoping for and need. Now that you’ve pointed it out I agree that foreground interest is missing. Something for me to keep in mind. Overprocessed? Hmmm? Very recently, I realised I was falling into that trap so you are almost certainly right. I think I may have added saturation -unnecessary after using a polariser. I’ll have the original in a file sonewhere. Will dig it out.
Waiting to board the tram at Sheffield Cathedral stop
An oldie – two cameras ago. When I saw the amount of blue in front of me as we walked through Honfleur I just had to give it a go. Couldn’t avoid the edge of the jetty on the right. Exif data is: Sony A300 with DT 18-70mm set at 20mm. 1/100 @ f14. ISO 100.
Not absolutely sure but I believe I had a polariser fitted at the time. I did not need to add much saturation in processing. Cropped a little from the right and the bottom to remove some minor distractions.I agree with the first two comments. Definitely cut out the brightness above the bridge. Brighten the scene and adding contrast might help, perhaps giving it a warmer tone, too, but you’d have to experiment with that. If you can’t remove the bright flower then perhaps recolouring might help.
I like this. For me, cropping out the top of the tree and a little from either side, keeping the man framed and on the Third might be an improvement.
