Thanks everyone. I totally agree. This was a bit more spontaneous then you might think as the cute dog in the image isn’t even mine. I was on a hike up to a waterfall for some shots and happened upon this scene. Had to snap fast or lose out. 🙂
Taken in a store in Gettysburg PA. I just loved these little guys.

400Thanks all. I appreciate the feedback. I did post my camera settings when I uploaded the image. I assumed that was sufficient, but next time I’ll place them in the actual post. I’ll play with some cropping. I also have other images of the owls, I just select that one because I received an overwhelmingly positive response from others on that shot. 🙂
The end of the world or just a foggy lake morning? by Mindy Haines on Light Stalking
I have to look at my computer for the camera settings…pulling this one from my iPad saved images. It was so foggy and still it looked like the peninsula was floating on air instead of sticking out into water.
Thanks all, I sincerely appreciate the feedback. I have a few other shots of the owls without the white owl in front. It’s funny, when I’ve shown the various versions to others, the overwhelming response has been for this one. 🙂
As for the boy and the bridge, I was limited. With the boy I had two obstacles obscuring: one kept the full horse from being in view, the other block the right side so I could not pan that direction. With the bridge, I couldn’t step back any further and I had only my 50mm lense with me.
Thanks again! I really do appreciate it.
I looked at this and just wished for more focus on those mountains. I agree with @nikon-nut in that it looks over enhanced in foreground. My mind’s first thought was that the mountains were photoshop’d in and not blended well. Sorry.
